Privacy Policy

What Page Race collects about you and what it does with it, in plain words.

What we collect

When you sign up we store your email address and a password (kept only in scrambled, hashed form by our sign-in provider). When you join a class we store the display name you choose. When you add a book we store its title, page count and the date you finished it. We also keep your class’s name, join code and time zone, and basic session cookies that keep you signed in.

How we use it

We use this only to run Page Race: signing you in, putting you in your class, and working out the monthly pages-read leaderboard.

Who can see it

Your classmates see your display name and your page totals on the board. Your email address, password and individual book list are not shown to them. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who handles it for us

Your information is stored with our hosting and database providers (Vercel and Neon), who process it on our behalf to keep the service running.

Cookies and visits

We use cookies only to keep you signed in. We may count visits to the site in our own database, without third-party advertising or tracking.

Keeping and removing your data

We keep your information while you use the service. To have your details corrected or removed, contact the person who runs your class on the service or the site owner and we will help.

Changes and questions

We may update this policy; the latest version is always on this page. If anything here is unclear, contact the person who runs your class on the service.
